Leicester Square is a pedestrian area in West London, one of London's attractions.

What is it famous for?

Leicester Square is the center of show business and nightlife of London.

On the square there are several large cinemas including the famous cinema “Odeon”, many nightclubs and discos. Cinemas in Leicester Square are the traditional places for first nights of the films. Famous first nights of Avatar, Alice in Wonderland, Shrek, Harry Potter took place at these cinemas.

In the center of the square there is a small park. The statue of William Shakespeare surrounded by dolphins is in the center of this park. Near to the statue of Shakespeare is a statue of Charlie Chaplin.
