совершенствование умений
поисково-просмотрового чтения
на основе текста «The Discovery of America»

Образовательные задачи урока:
развитие произносительных навыков;
формирование лексических навыков по теме "The Country Across the Ocean";
развитие умений говорения на основе текста "The Discovery of America";

Основные лексические единицы: discover, discovery, gold, land, round, sail, sure, voyage, the Arctic Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, the Indian Ocean, the Pacific Ocean, America, Christopher Columbus.
Формы работы: индивидуальная, фронтальная, работа в парах, работа в группах
Оборудование: компьютер, колонки, доска, телевизор.

71% of water covers our planet. There are 4 oceans on our planet. What oceans do you know? Look at the map on the board and find them.






The Arctic Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, the Indian Ocean, the Pacific Ocean.

Let's think about what people used the oceans for in ancient times?

People fished, travelled, learnt about countries, transported things

So, people really could learn about other countries while travelling by ships.

Now let's learn some vocabulary which can help us to speak about oceans, travelling and discovering countries. Look at the cards and repeat after me.

Now let's say Russian phrases in English.
You can use ex. 4, B.

Divide in two groups. One group has pictures and the other group has word combinations. You need to find your partner and match your cards

Today we are going to learn about some country which was discovered by sailing. Do you know what country it is? Look at the map and think.
