Family size
If you have a large family with lots of brothers and sisters, you may say,
“I come from a big family.”
The opposite “I come from a small family”
If you have no brothers or sisters, you may say,
“I am(was) an only child”
If you have brothers and sisters , you may say,
“I am ( was)one of three siblings
“My family has five family members”( not natural)
“There are five of us in my family”( natural)
How many people are there in your family?

Tell me about your family.Kinds of family
Up until the age of 20,you talk about your
Extended family: brothers,sisters,parents,uncles,aunts, grandparents
After falling in love, getting married, having children, we talk about
Nuclear family-parents and their children

Siblings
Sometimes brothers and sisters are similar
“My brother and I are like two peas in a pod”
If you are completely different:
“My brother and I are like chalk and cheese”
Talking about relationships :
“We have ups and downs”(ups and downs-the bad and the good times)
“We don’t always see eye to eye”(eye to eye is to agree)
“Sometimes we fall out but then we make up”
(fall out-have disagreement with somebody, to make up- to become friends again)
When you get on well( have good relationships),
“Well, we are a close family”
When your family is important to you,
“My family is everything for me”
“I love them (my family)to bits”( to love a lot)
“My family mean the world to me”

Parents
“I look like my father/mother”
“I’m the spitting image of my father/mother”
“I take after my father/mother”
Blood is thicker than water

What’s your family like?
I’m from a medium-sized family.I was the eldest of three siblings. I think all of us are quite different.My brother and sister are extrovert, and I’m completely an introvert.We certainly have ups and downs
Unfortunately, I don’t see a lot of them because we live in different cities, but we stay in touch with Whats app.
Talking about my parents, I take after my mum and I’m also the spitting image of her.
