Future Simple
decisions made at the moment of speaking;
predictions about the future;
promises, threats, warnings, requests, hopes and offers;
actions, events, situations which will definitely happen in the future and which we cannot control.

How to form
will + V

Examples
The phone’s ringing. I will answer it.
He will probably come later on.
I will help you with your homework?
Rod will be fifty years old in June.

Be going to
for plans, intentions or ambitions for the future;
actions we have already decided to do in the near future;
predictions based on what we can see or what we know.

How to form
be (am, is, are) + Ving

Examples
He is going to be a doctor when he finishes university.
Laura is going to spend her holidays in France.
Look at that man with the guitar. He is going to start playing.

next week/month etc
