You know, today we are going to have an unusual lesson – we are going on a sea voyage. I will be your captain and you’ll be my sailors. In order to raise our team spirit, I’d like you all to stand up, push your chairs into the desks. Come and make a circle, please. Let’s join our hands and say our cheer “One for all and all for one”.
True friends
Now, I’d like you to greet you shoulder partners: give five, say “Hello!” to them and ask how they feel.
Good job we are ready to start. However, we can’t get our seats in the ship without knowing its name. Let’s guess its name and determine the theme of our lesson.

The sailors under №2 take the file that is in the centre of your table, find the task 1 and put it on the table. You should do in groups the following: put the lines of this poem in the right order. Then read it and guess the name of the ship. I’ll give you a minute for this task.

Right you are. The name of the ship and the theme of our lesson is “True friends”. And we start our trip. In our lesson we are going to speak about friends and friendship, remember proverbs about friends, characterize a true friend, watch the moral story and do some interesting tasks.
- We’ll do it having a journey by ship. At the end of our journey we are going to find a treasure.
- Pupils, the aim of our lesson is to define who our true friend is, to learn to describe him or her, characterize a true friend, summing up all the facts we will discuss during it.
- Take your seats on the board of our ship, please. Let’s start.
One for all and all for one!
Our ship starts sailing and we are reaching the island “Questions”.
-We are going to work in pairs with our shoulder partners. Look at the board, there are three questions. Firstly, you are going to work individually, to think for 10 seconds and find the answers to the questions. Secondly, you should answer each question with your shoulder partner one by one. It will take you 2 minutes.
1) What is friendship?
2) What proverbs about friends and friendship do you know?
3) What examples of literature and cartoon characters that may be called true friends can you name?

A true friend can be trusted with secrets. I can trust my secrets to my friend. Having a good time with a real friend. A true friend will support you when you're sad. You can always rely on a true friend. I am interested in spending free time with my friend. )

Hi, five. Now each of you should think over 4 words, connected with the topic “True friends”, you’ve learnt today or on the previous lessons. After that you should say them loudly and write down a word or word combination on one sheet of paper, and put it in the centre of the table with its right side. You are going to do it without order of priority.

“Friendship soup”
-During our voyage, we’ve learnt a lot of things about true friends and friendship. At the end of our journey I’d like you to tell me the universal recipe of friendship, speaking more exactly, the recipe of friendship soup from our group.
- Here is the pot. Each of you will think over his or her ingredient, write down it on the piece of paper, come to the pot, say it loudly and put it there. The example, how to do it you’ll find in your files. Participants №2 hand out the supporting examples and the sheets of paper for writing, please.
Pupils, our voyage has come to the end. Today we’ve made a long and hard way to know who a true friend is, describe him or her, cook friendship soup and, certainly, find a treasure.
-And here it is in the chest. Let’s open and see. So, today we’ve found one of the most unvaluable treasure in the world – friendship.
Pupils, think and evaluate yourselves, please, how well you’ve understood the theme of today’s lesson and how much you’ve satisfied with it.
