WHAT IS LAW?

Law is the system of rules established by the state.

It governs our conduct from the cradle to the grave.

It protects us while it restricts us.

The main aim of law
is to consolidate
and safeguard the social
and state system and
its economic foundation.

We live in a society which has
developed a complex body of rules
to control the activity of its members.

There are law, which govern working conditions,
laws, which regulate
the life we lead
and laws, which control personal relationships.

Law tells us how fast we can drive
and how long we must
attend school.

It helps to protect us from unfair commercial practices.

In all countries there is distinction between private
-or civil-
law and public law.

Private law deals with relationships among citizens of a country.

Public law deals relationships between
the State and the citizens of between
one state and another.

The system of law in our country consists of different categories of law:

constitutional law

administrative law

criminal law

civil law

international law

financial law

Governments use a system of courts and the police to enforce the laws.
